Online addiction counselling provides mental health services and support remotely. It is an online addiction treatment that assists clients in addressing and overcoming drug or alcohol addiction. This can be through video conferencing, online chat, email, text messaging or internet phone.
Online addiction counseling is a very accessible way of receiving a variety of therapy methods ranging from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, therapy for treating trauma and a range of other types of therapy.
By utilizing video calls, therapists can provide support, coping strategies, and treatment plans remotely, enabling individuals to receive help without the need for physical presence in a counselling office. All the individual will need to participate is a quiet private space, a phone or smart device and access to the internet. This helps clients reduce their addictive behaviour and reduce withdrawal symptoms.

Hey, I’m Luke Worsfold, the founder of Lisa Inside Addiction.
As a counsellor with 6 years of sobriety, my goal is to help you take control of your drinking.
How It Started
How It Is Going
I grew up with a mother who struggled with alcohol and passed away when I was just 10 years old. Unfortunately, I followed in her footsteps, drinking and taking drugs until I lost my partner, family connections and business.
I relentlessly searched for answers through google, books, AA Meetings and rehab but nothing seemed to be working… then I discovered…. ADDICTION THERAPY.
Thanks to the power of therapy, I was able to understand why I drank, earn back my loved one’s trust and break free my self-destructive cycle of drinking and using drugs.
Now I’ve made it my mission to help others take control of their drinking/drug use and reduce their consumption.
I can confidently tell you, you are in the right place! So book a call and let’s walk this journey together.
Online addiction counselling offers a flexible, accessible, and affordable way to get professional support without the barriers that often come with in-person treatment. Many people struggle to access traditional rehab or face-to-face therapy due to financial, personal, or logistical challenges—and online counselling bridges that gap as an effective online addiction treatment.
Here’s why online addiction therapy might be the right choice for you:

"It has been the best thing I could have ever done"
I joint Lisa inside addiction due to binge drinking and not knowing when to stop drinking once I start. I was in a low place when Luke contacted me and I signed up for the alcohol control program and 1 to 1 sessions with Luke. It has been the best thing I could have ever done, I’m now 6 weeks sober and have a complete different outlook on life. Luke has been absolutely amazing! He has gave me many techniques, one of which has taught me how to control intrusive thoughts which I struggled with. Since talking to Luke everyone has seen such a positive effect on me. I cannot recommend him enough, we’ve spoke about a lot of deep stuff but also laughed at past experiences. The program has shown me my triggers and how to deal with them. Highly recommended!

"Luke gave me the support I needed"
Luke gave me the support I needed to make some big changes in my life. The program he provided is comprehensive, and it all links together meaningfully to provide a really effective course. If you are ready and willing to make change for the better, this course provides a very strong base of support, focus and motivation. Strongly recommended.

"I have not had a drink in 4 months"
Luke has been amazing. He was exactly what I was looking for in a therapist, someone that I could talk openly with and on the same level. Sometimes we would work through exercises and other times we would just chat about what was going on. I have not had a drink in 4 months and with a bit of hard work from myself and awesome support from Luke here's to the next 4 and many more after :-)

Our online addiction counselling sessions are conducted through secure and easy-to-use video call platforms, ensuring you receive professional support from the comfort of your own space.
Video call counselling offers a multitude of benefits, including accessibility for those in remote areas, flexibility in scheduling, and the comfort of participating in one's private environment. Clients can avoid travel time, experience online therapy for addiction in a familiar setting, and may feel more at ease disclosing personal issues from the safety of their homes. This in turn reduces addictive behaviours and supports the recovery process.
Key Advantages of Online Addiction Therapy
How Online Therapy Increases Access to Treatment
Many people who struggle with addiction never receive the help they need. Studies estimate that 10% to 12% of people with a substance use disorder don’t seek treatment due to barriers like location, time constraints, or stigma.
For individuals who cannot physically attend therapy or group meetings, online options provide a lifeline to professional support. With virtual therapy, help is available when it’s needed most.
Also online therapy can sometimes serve as an important first step toward more intensive interventions. In some cases, people who try online therapy first may be more likely to seek out traditional, face-to-face treatment services in the future. Studies have shown that people may also be more likely to stick with face-to-face therapy when it is supplemented with online treatment.

A Note from Our Lead Counsellor, Luke Worsfold
“Since COVID, addiction counselling has transformed. Moving online has made it more accessible than ever—not just for therapists, but for clients as well. In a single day, I can now support clients from Manchester in the morning and London in the afternoon, without either of us needing to travel. Online therapy has made it easier for people to fit addiction counselling into their schedules, ensuring that more individuals get the support they need, when they need it, in a way that works for them.”
All our counsellors are...
Experienced, Trusted, Qualified, Regulated

Navigating the complexities of alcohol addiction requires specialised care and understanding. With advancements in digital health, many individuals are turning to alcohol therapy online as a convenient and effective solution. Online alcohol counselling offers individuals the ability to seek professional guidance and support from the comfort of their homes, breaking down barriers that might prevent someone from seeking help. Online therapy for alcoholism is designed to cater to the unique challenges faced by those struggling with alcohol addiction. By offering a combination of therapeutic techniques, resources, and continuous support, alcohol counselling online ensures that individuals are equipped with the tools they need to progress in their recovery journey.
How Does Online Counselling Differ from In-Person Sessions?
Online counselling provides the same therapeutic support as in-person sessions, but through video calls instead of face-to-face meetings in an office. While online therapy may lack certain non-verbal cues, it offers greater convenience, accessibility, and flexibility, making it an effective alternative to traditional in-person treatment. Many people find it easier to fit therapy into their busy schedules without needing to commute, making it a more practical option than residential rehab or local therapy services.
Is Online Addiction Counselling Effective?
Yes! Research shows that online therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions for treating substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and addiction recovery. A study by Chuong Ho & Melissa Severn found that online counselling sessions increase access to care, allowing more people to receive support. Ultimately, the therapeutic relationship between the client and counsellor is what matters most—whether online or in person. (Source: Chuong Ho & Melissa Severn, 2018 - PubMed Study)
